On today’s episode, Levi Gorsuch and I chatted all about leading through innovation and the importance of not only being a good cattleman, but a good person as well.

Levi is the owner of B Bar L Hereford Cattle, LLC in Juniata, Nebraska. They strive to produce predictable, sustainable, and profitable Hereford bulls. They also take pride in raising quality F1 heifers.

Levi grew up on several different ranches in the Sandhills and Western Nebraska. His Dad and Grandpa have taught him everything there is to know about ranching and the cattle industry. To this day, getting his Dad and Grandpa’s stamp of approval on a cow or bull he has raised means the world to him.

Even though he’s been around ranching and cattle his whole life, Levi is the first person in his family to raise seedstock. In 2015, he sold all his commercial cows and purchased his first registered Hereford cows. He’s had a lot of help from fellow Hereford breeders to get his start, and now through AI and ET uses some of the best genetics in the Hereford breed. This next year will be their biggest offering ever of registered Hereford bulls. They’ll be selling, via private treaty, about 25 age-advantage and yearling bulls.

In this episode, Leading Through Innovation with Levi Gorsuch, we’ll cover:

  • Levi’s seedstock operation and their goals

  • The value in legacy and how each generation can learn from one another

  • Focusing on your own path and not comparing yourself to someone else’s journey

  • Not being afraid to try new things and getting over perfectionism

  • Levi’s takeaways from Cattleman U Live and how it has positively impacted their operation
