  • Having never been, and still currently not working in the beef industry, I wasn’t sure if Ranch Camp was something I should participate in. While raising beef is something I would love to do one day, it isn’t what I am doing now, which brought up the question, is ranch camp something I should invest in? The answer was yes, and I am so glad I did!

    Kiara

  • Ranch Camp was everything I could've imagined and more. I have no background in cattle, I'm a full time nurse who happens to love horses and dates someone who happens to love cows. I've had little experience handling cattle so hearing that there was a program designed for just women made me so excited. Over the course of camp I genuinely gained so much cofidence in working with cattle and how to handle them.

    Brianna

  • Attending ranch camp through was one of the best experiences of my life. Honestly, it far exceeded my expectations. I walked away not only with practical ranching skills, but also with a deep sense of empowerment and inspiration. In just four days, I learned more than I thought possible: from cattle handling to the daily rhythms of ranch operations, every activity had a purpose and pushed me to grow. The camp is designed so you’re constantly learning by doing, which makes it both challenging and rewarding.

  • We WORKED hard sun up to down and learned so much. Most of this I had a little experience with but nothing like what they taught us and then let us do it on our own. From vaccine protocols, IV starting, blood samples, aging, BSE’s, EID’s, Vet protocols, hydraulic chute, prep checking, sorting, chute and alley work, bobcat driving, de horning, castrating, calf grafting techniques, cattle roping and administering in the field vaccines and SO MUCH MORE. I wanted to work nonstop and never sleep.

    Kristian

  • Being able to start with the BQA and some hands-on simple activities allowed me to slowly step into the mindset I needed to work the cattle in the coming days. Being at our farm, everyone wanted to “hurry and get it done” and that doesn’t allow for much opportunity to learn. Ranch camp created an atmosphere that I felt comfortable saying I didn’t understand or I needed more practice.

    Stacey

  • I don't know how to describe how amazing and life changing that week was for me. I've gotten closer with people I've known for years because we now have a new connection when talking about working with cattle. I've reached out to a few places around here I know to see if I can start doing more work more locally.

    Jessica

  • Camp was what I needed to take the dream of ranching and break it down into steps that I could take every day that would become the real business we have now. I castrated all our bull calves by myself and have tagged and given our herd all their vaccines. I don't think they had been handled in at least 5 years. It was not as calm and nice as camp but it got done.
