Today on the show, we discuss family dynamics on the ranch, starting and operating a farm to table business, and educating people on where their food really comes from. We do so with Dana Carey, whose family raises commercial cattle in Northern California, Southern Oregon. They have three generations of family currently living and working on the ranch. They understand the relationship between producer and consumer, and with that, they began selling some of their beef directly to the consumer. Dana shares some insight on being part of the industry that is proud to fill meat counters all over the US!

In this episode, Being Game to Try Something Different with Dana Carey, we cover:

  • Working alongside family on the operation.

  • Dana’s commitment to her family ranch, and the hopes that seeing that next generation gives her.

  • Some of the do’s and don’ts that Dana has witnessed first hand when starting to market their beef directly to the customer.

  • Creating connection so that consumers understand where their food comes from.
